Yummy Yarn Studio Sock of the Month Club is up and running for January – March. The sign up sheet is ready for April – August.
I love the day after the storm. A fresh blanket of sparkling white snow lies on the ground with hints of grey in the shadows. The blue of the winter sky is amazing. I have been told that a winter sky is different from a summer sky because of the lack of humidity in the air. Even though I know it is cold out, I am taunted by the sun’s invitation to come out and play.
This was the inspiration for the first official sock of the month pattern created in January 2011. I had received a note from a supplier that the special “Sparkle” yarn was available and although hesitant to order a fancy yarn, I indulged my inspiration and was thrilled with the final product. The pattern starts with the picot edge, folded cuff. I love the way the cuff feels and looks and expect it can be adapted for many patterns in the future.
February is named “Love’s in the Air.” The yarn is a 50/50 silk-merino that is beautiful to work with and look at. Here is a sneak peek of what can be expected in the mail mid-February.

I am headed to Make One Yarn in Calgary tomorrow with a basket full of yarns. I am sure Bess and Alana will be grabbing a skein of two to add to the shop inventory.
The Corner Cafe of Etsy fame is putting together a Prairie inspired yarn basket. Yummy Yarn Studio will be the feature yarn supplier.

It’s going to be a busy Month! I am off to England tomorrow and am taking the iPad with me so hopefully will be able to blog. Pictures may have to wait depending on if I can figure out how to download off of my camera to the iPad. I can do this with the iPod so my fingers are crossed. At the very least I will post a pictures may have to wait.

Ohhhhh so pretty!
I’m still playing with January’s pattern – I use the magic loop method, so I have to do some adaptation – but I can’t wait to get my hands on February’s as well
