I have arrived at the Watergate Hotel in Cornwall, England. I made my first mistake by crawling into bed when I arrived at the hotel this morning at 11am. I woke at 5pm local. The rest was needed as I don’t sleep on the plane but whY was suppose to be a nap turned into a all day non-adventure. I did have a moment to have a peek out my window before I tucked in and I have a fabulous view of the crescent beach. The sky was clear and the wVes were minimal off the English Channel. The wind however was all South Southern Alberta and I couldn’t help notice the rows of windmills just south of the tiny airport at the Newquay airport just 5minitues up the road.
I brought my iPad to have contact with the world at home and what I have learned so far is that I love the convenience but have already found 2disappointing things. The first is that because I have not used the system very much in the past other than storage for patterns, my email address book has not transfered to the mail system but I think I have a way around that, and that in public wifi areas I can receive but I can’t send. I didn’t spring for the 3G version. The final and most disappointing because I haven’t figured out a way around this one, is that I can’t download pics from my camera or import to my photo library so although the blog will continue, pictures will not until I return next week. I’ll do my best to to do this lovely place justice in the mean time.
I am famished and my dinner arrangements are made for 6pm or noon for this of you in the Calgary time zone. I am going to do my best to hit the sack early and get on local time.
Sadly colourless (image free). Happily anticipating a knitting evening.
