Knitting in the Dark

I haven’t abandoned the Blog although I am sure that some of your feel that I have.  In fact I have been up to my waist in stuff the past 2 weeks and will likely be up to the chin during the next 2 weeks when we leave for Knit East.

Friday September 9th was the launch of the Tapas Club at Make 1 Yarn Studio.  This was the first of 4 events that began as a germ of an idea early this past Spring with 6 of us including Bess from Make 1, 3 designers, a test knitter, and myself thinking about how we could make this a unique adventure for the store and Bess’ customers.  Thus the Tapas (Spanish tasting menu – go figure with Yummy Yarns) began its life.

The first designer was Jessica Theodor. She designed the Sangria Sock using Yummy Yarn Studio’s limited edition Roasted Bell Peppers and Olives.  The Kit that Bess put together included a pattern, the yarn, recipe, hand molded stitch marker, and matching cloth project bag.  The launch included a trunk sale that was my distraction for the past week.  We had an amazing response and I understand as of this morning there are only 6 kits left at the store.  Kudos to the Launch team!.

The next release is in early November.  I understand at this point, I am allowed to share that it isn’t socks.  Best be ready to pounce on this kit as it is sure to be a hit as well.

My work is calling, so I must be off to fill the bins with more yarn in prep for Knit East.
