Project Finished

It is sometimes difficult to share all the things that I have going on in the studio, as many of my projects are those that are part of the Studio’s yarn clubs.  Last year was our first sock club.  All together there were 9 pairs of socks released.  Some of those are now available for purchase (patterns only) through Ravelry.

Here is what we have released so far:

This was the January Sock of the Month.

“Sun Filled Snow Day”

Two things were explored with this sock lace and a picot double cuff.  This one was also knit with silver sparkle yarn.  I must say you always remember the first ;-)

“Love’s in the Air”

February was all about feeling pretty.  I wanted to design something that could be worn with a boot and added to that the ruffle and the beading.  Sassy!

March was all about cables!  Who says lime green isn’t becoming?  This sock was just about the death of me!  Seemed we (me and the test knitters) could never get it right.  The final problem was solved with a new graphing program and acceptance that the cables were going to be what they were.  Oddly enough, this is the top design so far that has been released. “Touch of Irish

May Flowers” was our last release.  April wasn’t ready for prime time yet.  The idea behind the demand for something happy was that I would stretch to bounds of intarsia and fair isle and try a duplicate stitch instead.  This meant after what had been 4 taxing months of knitting, this was simple and fun.

These socks just plain make me happy!  Most of us can’t wear yellow but darn it! why not wear yellow on your feet?  Under all that conservative black and grey along with the dull “not quite Spring on the Prairie” is a heap of laughter.  Dare ya!

The new release is ready for its debut.  Save that for tomorrow’s blog.
