Yup, I really did more knitting than you would think in 2011 given all the other adventures and misadventures of the year. “Prairie Spring” (pattern also available on Ravelry) was a sock that I designed and released first with 2 retailers and then on my own. I can’t believe haw many comments I get about this pair of socks.
One of the downsides to releasing patterns, is that I carry the samples around with me and can’t every wear them. The truth is that some day I am going to be the proud wearer of a heap load of great socks, but for now I need to be content with being the proud owner.
The other pair of socks that were a part of the 2011 line up was “Kisses.” The original pair was sent to Crafty Diversions. No one ever knits for a knitter so I thought why not? and Anne was the proud recipient. Kisses 2,3 and 4 have all been knit since. Still none have landed on my feet
.
I must admit, the one item that has managed to end up on me the most is Knitting By the Sea. This pattern was designed this fall for the Knit East event in New Brunswick. I LOVE this shawl. It has been faved in Ravelry almost 200 times. Ms.K is knitting the shawlette version and I have seen at least one other version in a lovely blue.
It really has been an amazing design year. I hope you agree and as I share more of the project from 2011, as they become available for sale on Ravelry, I hope you will take the time to cheque them out and let me know what you think.
