Busy Bee Pattern Release

It was over a year ago that these socks were started while on my trip to Cornwall.  I was in Anne Hanson’s class and she had us start a sock with this motif.  Although I loved the lace work, the sock wasn’t making sense to me, as she had designed it.  Weeks later, I found I was still haunted by the “bee” and simply needed to do something with it.

The thing that I loved about Anne’s class is that she gave me permission to work with stitches that already existed.  Her exact words were “there are so many great stitches out there, why would you want to go to the trouble of inventing more.  It likely already exists anyway and you just haven’t found it yet.

The pattern is simple once you have the lace motif figured out and the cuff is a great place to show off an antique set of buttons.  You can find the pattern either on etsy, or on ravelry.  I  am so looking forward to seeing it knit up in other colours.
